Coded with Macromedia Director, Boxed Earth is an innovative three-dimensional
navigation concept. Three boxes are positioned above the earth, using
the mouse the whole scene can be rotated to select a box where you want
to learn more about it.
When you click on it, the program zooms to it and if you hover with the
mouse above it, you get a description. From there you can click on one
of the other boxes or on the earth to get back to the initial position.
The interesting thing is that the motion of the mouse always influences
the angel of the viewport, so the whole scene is always in motion. This
makes it quite funny and interesting to navigate, especially when you're
zoomed in to a box and the whole image can turn upside down, depending
on what you do.
